Even though the earth and the heavens will someday perish, Jesus will always remain sitting at God’s right hand. And in this capacity He is forever making intercession for us. His kingdom will never end.

Hebrews 1:10-14
“10 And: "You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. 11 They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; 12 Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail. 13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation."

In the previous verses the author of Hebrews has established the deity of Christ which lines up with John 1:1-3, 14 & 1 Timothy 3:16. With this clearly established he now has moved to the ultimate authority the creator has over the creation. He did form the foundations of the worlds and as a result of the fall of Adam they are slipping away and will be gone someday. 2 Peter 3:13 points to a new earth and in Revelations 21:1, John the Revelator saw the old earth pass away and the New Earth come down from God. This is so important to understand deep in the heart of a Christian, because it is in Jesus the creator that all of our hope rests in. When a Christian does not understand this truth, it is where the enemy can cast doubt on their salvation and through fear pull them back into works of righteousness and not walking in faith. Anything done without faith is sin, Romans 14:23, which means that when we are walking in doubt of our salvation and into performing works we are out of the perfect will of God, Galatians 5:4. We have not lost our salvation, but our receiver gets affected in hearing and receiving all the blessings God has given us.

Verse 13 is a direct quote from Psalms 110:1 “The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool." Paul is telling us again as prophesied by King David that everything accept God will be under the feet of Jesus. We must put all of our trust in Him because to trust in anything else is to trust in something that will fail.
